The Mission Call

Rachael's decision to serve a full time mission for the Lord did not come lightly. I remember when the sister missionary age was lowered to 19 during the October 2012 General Conference that she considered serving a mission for the first time. As she attended BYU this past year, she began to seriously think about a mission which lead to intense thought and prayer. She eventually received her answer and then spent some time convincing Bishop Olsen that she was indeed serious about serving. Rachael's call was extended on May 12th and we opened it on Sunday, May 24th surrounded by family and friends. Allens, Carrolls, Murphys, Felsteds, Howells, Russells, Dad, Millers, Bowns, Robinsons, Rose, Belchers, Rita, and the Fraughtons.  We had many others on the phone and still communicated with more people via text after she opened her call. Rachael will leave for the Mexico Torreon Mission via the Mexico City MTC on October 14th, 2015. Torreon is located in the middle of where Mama Belen and Mama Carol immigrated from many years ago. In fact, Sonia and I had been looking at family history just before Rachael opened her call. How cool is that!
